Simple sourdough for real kitchens and real life.
Real Rustic Sourdough started because sourdough was supposed to be simple—but somewhere along the way, it got complicated.
Too many methods. Too many rules. Too much guessing.
This space is about bringing it back to something that actually makes sense at home.
Why this started
It began in a real kitchen, trying to figure out a better way to make bread for the family.
For us, it was about health, cost, and wanting something more real than store-bought bread.
But learning sourdough wasn’t straightforward.
Every recipe said something different. Every baker had a different rule. And when things didn’t work, it was hard to know if that was normal or a mistake.
So this became the focus here—making it clearer.
What you’ll find here
Everything is built around real baking at home:
- understanding your starter
- learning how dough actually behaves
- fixing problems when things don’t go to plan
- and baking bread that fits real life, not perfect conditions
You don’t need to know everything at once.
Just the next step.
How to start
If you’re new, start simple
Everything is broken down so you always know what to do next.
A final note
Sourdough doesn’t need perfection.
It just needs understanding.
Once you start recognising what your dough is telling you, everything gets easier.
